Projects Overview

As part of Spotter Studio, we’ve created Projects, an all-in-one project planner that helps you get organized with task management, project tracking, and team collaboration from pre-production to video launch.

Projects helps creators:

  • Experience YouTube-tailored project management - Understand how “complete” a video project is and if it’s ready to be moved to the next stage of production.

  • See where all your projects are at every stage of pre and post production - You can quickly see the status of your video backlog and organize multiple projects at once in an easily sortable, filterable view.

  • Create new projects in an organized way - Quickly and easily tie related titles, thumbnails and concepts together during ideation sessions.

  • Collaborate with ease - Enable multiple team members to contribute to the project and work together seamlessly.

  • Ideate with ease - As an all-in-one video idea organizer, Projects allows you ideate with ease across your entire video pre-production process. You can see which video ideas are in what stage of completion, and confidently make decisions about where to ideate next.

How to use Projects

The Projects section of Spotter Studio is where you and your team will be able to efficiently create new video projects, generate ideas for your next project using our Brainstorm functions, and see the status of all of your current projects. We have specifically designed it so that you can create workflows that work best for you and your team.

For more detailed instructions we have listed some of the main actions that can be taken below:

Viewing your Existing Projects

The first page you will see upon opening Projects will be a grid view of all of the projects you have started in Spotter Studio. If you do not have any projects yet, you will see an option to “Create a project” in the center of the page.

  • Project List - all-in-one idea organizer to build and maintain a robust backlog of video projects in various stages of pre- and post-production. This tool helps you organize and prioritize your video projects to better plan your production schedule and better understand how many videos you have in each stage of the production pipeline.

    • Grid view - simplest view of the My Videos Page: you can view all currently available video projects and sort and filter to find projects easily.

    • Sorting/filters - perform simple sorting and filtering on their video projects.

    • Search - search within the video projects to quickly find specific videos.

Starting a New Project

When you click "+ New Project" from anywhere in Spotter Studio you will be taken to a blank Project Details page.

  • Project Details Page

    • Name - You have the ability to name the new project whatever you would like by clicking the area indicated by the blue arrow in the screenshot below. Any new project name will default to the date/time stamp in which it was created, in the following format - YYYY.DD.MM - HH:MM

    • Title - This would be the title of your video once it is published. You can add your own title in the area marked by the green arrow, or use the Brainstorm tool to leverage AI-suggested titles (orange arrow in this screenshot).

  • Thumbnail - You can explore AI-generated thumbnails by first typing in a description and then clicking "Brainstorm" (green arrow in this screenshot), or you can upload a file of your own (blue arrow in this screenshot).

  • Concept - This is where you can enter what you want the video project to generally be about (orange arrow in this screenshot). You can also use the Brainstorm tool here to get AI-generated concepts (blue arrow in this screenshot).

    Helpful Tips!

  • If you need some inspiration, you can always just click “✨Brainstorm” from any blank element and let Spotter Studio do the work for you! You will automatically receive fresh ideas based on your previous uploads, YouTube trends, and how your your audience’s preferences!

  • As you are brainstorming and finding elements that you might want to use for the project you are working on, click "Keep" and they will show up in your Options. You can quickly sift through your options from the main project page.

  • Use the "⚙️ Inputs" tool (shown below) to adjust the recommendations you are provided.

  • You can even select the Thumbnail Style (Beta). We now have three options for you to choose from:

    • Concept Art - our default style to see concepts quickly

    • Sketch - great for understanding composition and for creators who are color blind

    • Realistic - easier to explain to thumbnail designers of what the thumbnail could realistically look like

It’s important to note: the thumbnails generated within Spotter Studio are meant for inspiration, not for direct usage as YouTube Thumbnails.

  • Properties/Notepad/History - In order to keep all your projects even more organized, we highly recommend keeping these sections as up to date as possible.

Properties - the tab of the card you see on the right side of a new project

    • Private/Team

      • Private - only the person who created the project will be shown as a contributor (the card will also only be visible to this person)

      • Team - everyone who has access to the channel is a contributor. In this case, we share the channel logo under contributors to represent that everyone has access.

    • Status - What is the current status of the project? Update this as things change with the project. There are five different statuses:

      1. Ideas (Light gray) - Brainstorming potential video topics

      2. In Development (Orange) - Planning and preparing selected ideas

      3. In Post-Production (Yellow) - Actively filming and creating content

      4. Ready to Publish (Green) - Finalized and queued for release

      5. Published (Blue) - Live on Youtube

    • Target date - propose a date for publishing the video to YouTube (or completion of your project)

    • Target Video Length this is helpful to keep track of longer videos versus shorter ones, and how you may want to prioritize each

    • Video Type - select what type of video you are projecting to make (challenge, vlog, gaming, etc.)

    • Sponsor - Space to add a sponsor if applicable.

    • Notepad Open space where you and members of your team can add relevant video project notes that may be helpful to you or to your teammates to refer back to at a later date.

    • History Change log to see all changes made to the video project. So if you made an error and want to revert back to the project before a change was made, you can do so here.

    • Autosave Automatically saves all changes made to the project, ensuring no idea gets lost.
